Biography

Michel Kikoine was born on May 31, 1892, in the city of Gomel, which at that time was part of the Russian Empire. During his lifetime, he gained recognition as a painter connected to the movements of Expressionism and the Paris School. Kikoine worked in various painting genres, including portrait and still life. His artistic activity was linked both to the culture of the Russian Empire and to French culture, where he lived and eventually died on November 4, 1968, in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. Within the French cultural tradition, Michel Kikoine is also known by the name Michel Kikoine.
