Maxim Gauci

Maxim Gauci was born on February 11, 1774, in Valletta, Malta. He was a Maltese lithographer, artist, and draughtsman who carried out his professional activities mainly in Great Britain during the 19th century. Gauci became one of the early followers of lithography, particularly in the field of botanical illustration, highlighting his importance in the history of artistic techniques of that period. Besides lithography, he was also known for his works in portrait genre. Maxim Gauci passed away on November 3, 1854, in London.
