Biography
Marjetica Potrč was born in 1953 in Ljubljana, then part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, now Slovenia. She completed her studies at the University of Ljubljana in 1978, specializing in architecture and sculpture. As a contemporary artist and architect, Potrč works at the intersection of visual art, architecture, and social sciences. In 1993, she created the installation "Two Faces of Utopia" for the Slovenian pavilion at the Venice Biennale. In 2000, Marjetica Potrč received the prestigious Hugo Boss Prize. Throughout her professional career, she combines roles as an architect, draughtswoman, video artist, and visual art practitioner, reflecting the wide range of her creative interests and contributions.
