Marija Ujević-Galetović
Marija Ujević-Galetović (October 20, 1933 – March 13, 2023) was a contemporary Croatian sculptor and painter who lived and worked in Zagreb. Her life and career were closely tied to the city and the changing states of the former Yugoslavia.
Biography
Marija Ujević-Galetović was born on October 20, 1933, in Zagreb. She was a contemporary Croatian sculptor who also engaged in painting. Her entire life and artistic career were closely connected to the city of Zagreb, where she lived and worked. Throughout her lifetime, Marija held citizenship in several states that existed in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, including the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the Independent State of Croatia, the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and the modern Republic of Croatia. Her professional work was devoted primarily to sculpture, which was the main focus of her artistic output. Marija Ujević-Galetović passed away on March 13, 2023, in her native city of Zagreb.
