Mária Bartuszová
Mária Bartuszová (April 24, 1936, Prague – December 22, 1996, Košice) was a Slovak sculptor and ceramist known for abstract white plaster sculptures. Her works are held in the Centre Pompidou, Slovak National Gallery, and Tate Gallery.
Biography
Mária Bartuszová was born on April 24, 1936, in Prague. She was a Slovak sculptor and ceramist who worked primarily in the field of abstract art. Bartuszová was known for her sculptures made from white plaster. Her artistic works are included in prominent international museums and galleries. Notably, her pieces are held in the collections of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava, and the Tate Gallery in London. Additionally, her works were featured in the curated selection titled "Milk of Dreams" at the Venice Biennale. Mária Bartuszová passed away on December 22, 1996, in the city of Košice. Throughout her life, she was connected to the cultural and national traditions of Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
