Biography
Maningning Cruz Miclat was born on April 15, 1972, in Beijing to Filipino parents. She was a Filipino poet and artist recognized for her Chinese bamboo Zen paintings as well as her poetry. Miclat's work combined traditional Asian art with a contemporary Filipino cultural context. Throughout her life, she created a significant body of work that was noted for its subtle aesthetics and philosophical depth. Maningning Miclat died on September 29, 2000, in Manila. Her artistry continues to be an important part of postwar Filipino art.
