Lorenzo Gafà
Lorenzo Gafà (1630–1704) was a Maltese architect born and deceased in Birgu. He is recognized as one of Malta's leading architects and was the brother of sculptor Melchior Gafà. His notable works include the St. Paul's Cathedral and the Assumption Cathedral.
Biography
Lorenzo Gafà was born in 1630 in Birgu, Malta. He is regarded as one of the foremost Maltese architects of his era. Lorenzo was the brother of the well-known sculptor Melchior Gafà. Throughout his life, he created several notable architectural works, including the St. Paul's Cathedral and the Assumption Cathedral. Lorenzo Gafà died in 1704 in his native city of Birgu. His work is part of the Maltese cultural heritage, and he remains an important figure in the history of Maltese architecture.
