Biography
Leonora Carrington was born on April 6, 1917, in Clayton-le-Woods. She was an English and Mexican artist, sculptor, and writer who authored books in English, French, and Spanish. Throughout her creative career, she worked as a painter, draftsman, sculptor, screenwriter, and art figure. Carrington specialized in human figure painting and mythological themes, becoming one of the prominent representatives of surrealism. Over her lifetime, she had a significant impact on the development of contemporary art. Leonora Carrington passed away on May 25, 2011, in Mexico City.
