León Ferrari

León Ferrari (1920–2013) was an Argentine conceptual artist, sculptor, draftsman, and arts figure. Born and deceased in Buenos Aires, his work from 1954 to 2013 often protested the Argentine government.

Biography

León Ferrari was born on September 3, 1920, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was engaged in a multifaceted creative career as an artist, sculptor, draftsman, actor, and arts figure. Throughout his long artistic career spanning from 1954 to 2013, Ferrari produced works that frequently expressed protest against the Argentine government, the imperialist West, and the Church. His activities encompassed various directions of contemporary art, particularly conceptual art. León Ferrari passed away on July 25, 2013, in Buenos Aires. He was nationally associated with Argentina, where he was born, lived, and worked.
