Biography

Lee Ufan was born on June 24, 1936, in Seoul, Republic of Korea. He is a prominent Korean artist, sculptor, and philosopher. Lee Ufan is the founder and leader of the Japanese art movement Mono-ha, which played an important role in the development of contemporary art. In addition to his primary activities, Lee Ufan is also acknowledged as a graphic artist, printmaker, and jewelry designer. An essential part of his professional career is education—he worked as a university lecturer. Furthermore, he is a writer, complementing his diverse creative profile.
