Kurt Schwitters was born on June 20, 1887, in Hanover. He was a German artist and writer active across various artistic directions, including abstractionism and Dadaism. Throughout his creative career, Schwitters worked as a painter, sculptor, photograver, and designer. Additionally, he was a poet, musician, and composer, known also as a collage artist and figure in visual arts. Kurt maintained cultural connections with Germany, Norway, and Great Britain. His body of work includes notable creations such as 'Merzbau', 'An Anna Blume', and the sound piece 'Ursonate'. Kurt Schwitters passed away on January 8, 1948, in Kendal. His multifaceted activities and contributions to Dadaism remain significant for understanding the European avant-garde of the 20th century.
