Kristjan Raud

Biography

Kristjan Raud was born on October 22, 1865, in Viru-Jaagupi, Estonia. Throughout his life, he engaged in various artistic disciplines, working as an artist, draftsman, illustrator, and cultural figure. Raud also specialized in the creation of ex libris, combining visual art with book graphics. Furthermore, he is recognized as one of the founders of the Estonian National Museum, highlighting his important contribution to Estonian culture and art. He passed away on May 19, 1943, in Tallinn. His career spanned a significant period and encompassed several creative professions, underscoring his versatility and active involvement in the development of art in his country.
