Konstantin Yuon

Biography

Konstantin Fyodorovich Yuon was born on October 12, 1875, in Moscow, Russian Empire. He was a notable Russian artist who actively worked during the Silver Age and the early decades of the Soviet Union. Yuon was part of the circle of "Russian Impressionists," representing the Impressionist movement in visual arts. He specialized in landscapes and also engaged in teaching. In addition to painting, Konstantin Fyodorovich was a theatrical actor, scenographer, and an art theorist. Yuon maintained his creative work and remained connected to the cultural life of Moscow, where he died on April 11, 1958. He was the younger brother of composer Pavel Yuon. His activities spanned the significant historical period from the Russian Empire to the USSR, reflecting his cultural and national affiliation.
