Biography

Koloman Sokol was born on December 12, 1902, in the town of Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia. He became one of the leading Slovak artists of the 20th century, primarily recognized as a graphic artist. Throughout his professional career, Sokol engaged in drawing, illustration, and graphic design. In addition to his practical artistic work, he also served as an educator, university lecturer, and teacher, underscoring his significant contribution to the development of visual arts. He left a notable mark on the cultural life of Slovakia by continuing his creative and educational work for many years. Koloman Sokol passed away on January 12, 2003, in Tucson.
