Biography
Kim Lim was born in 1937 in Singapore. She was a sculptor and graphic artist of Singaporean and British origin. Throughout her career, Lim created abstract sculptures from wood and stone that explored the relationships between art and nature. In addition, she worked on graphic artworks developed alongside her sculptural pieces. Her work paid particular attention to details such as curves, lines, and surfaces, placing her within the minimalist tradition. Kim Lim's oeuvre is characterized by a pursuit of purity of form and precision in detail. Besides her visual arts practice, she was also recognized as a photographer. Kim Lim passed away on October 23, 1997, in London. Her artistic legacy reflects a unique blend of Singaporean and British cultural influences.
