Ken Nwadiogbu

Biography

Ken Nwadiogbu was born in 1994 in Lagos, Nigeria. He began his education in civil engineering at the University of Lagos but later shifted completely to visual arts. His creative work spans multiple directions, including painting, sculpture, installations, and video art. Gaining recognition for his hyperrealistic charcoal portraits, he subsequently expanded his practice toward more conceptual forms. Ken Nwadiogbu introduced the term "contemporealism," reflecting his view that simply portraying the moment through hyperrealism does not convey the depth of life—the depiction of the moment is not the moment itself. This concept combines realism with contemporary artistic forms and aims to express not only the external appearance of experience but also its emotions, mood, and feelings.
