Juraj Jakubisko was born on April 30, 1938, in Kojšov. He was a Slovak film director, artist, graphic artist, illustrator, cinematographer, screenwriter, director, cinematographer-director, and visual arts figure. Throughout his life, Jakubisko worked in Czechoslovakia and Slovakia, playing a significant role in the cinema of these countries. He was often called the "Eastern European Fellini." Juraj Jakubisko passed away on February 24, 2023, in Prague. His contributions are recognized across various fields of art and cinema, including directing and screenwriting.
