Jón Gunnar Árnason
Jón Gunnar Árnason (1931–1989) was an Icelandic sculptor born in Reykjavík. He studied at the University of Iceland, Reykjavík Institute of Arts and Crafts, and graduated from the Reykjavík Technical University in 1952. He pursued further art studies at Hornsey College of Art in London from 1965 to 1967.
Biography
Jón Gunnar Árnason was an Icelandic sculptor born on May 15, 1931, in Reykjavík. From 1944 to 1946, he studied at the University of Iceland and the Reykjavík Institute of Arts and Crafts. Following this, he graduated in 1952 from the Reykjavík Technical University with a degree in engineering. Between 1965 and 1967, Árnason continued his education in fine arts at the Hornsey College of Art in London. Throughout his artistic career, he was recognized for his sculpture work and represented Iceland in the field of sculpture. Among his notable works is the sculpture titled "The Sun Voyager." Jón Gunnar Árnason passed away on April 21, 1989.
