Joan Miró i Ferrà was born on April 20, 1893, in Barcelona, Spain. He was a Catalan artist recognized for his contributions to abstract art and surrealism. His oeuvre spans various genres, including painting, graphic art, sculpture, and ceramics. Miró’s works often resemble disjointed childlike drawings with figures loosely connected to real objects. Throughout his life, he created numerous notable works such as "The Wall of Miró," "The Hunter (Catalan Landscape)," and "The Harlequin's Carnival." Besides fine art, Miró was active in diverse artistic fields including postage stamp design, stage design, tapestry art, illustration, and collage. He passed away on December 25, 1983, in Palma. His nationality was Spanish, and culturally he was Catalan. Over his career, Miró significantly influenced the development of modern painting and abstraction.
