Biography

Jim Lee was born on August 11, 1964, in Seoul. He is a Korean-American artist, writer, editor, and publisher of comic books. He began his creative career in 1987 at Marvel Comics, where he worked as an artist on series such as Alpha Flight and Punisher War Journal. Later, Jim Lee was assigned to work on one of the most popular series of the time, The Uncanny X-Men. In 1991, a spin-off series was launched from this title; its first issue, X-Men #1, created by Jim Lee in collaboration with writer Chris Claremont, remains the best-selling comic book of all time according to the Guinness World Records. Beyond his roles as artist and writer, Lee has also been active as an editor and publisher. His cultural background connects him to both the United States and the Republic of Korea. His professional activities encompass several areas of art, including fine arts, graphic design, comic book creation, screenwriting, literary work, cartooning, and blogging.
