Jassim Zaini was born in 1942 in Doha, Qatar. He was a visual artist and graphic designer who played a key role in the development of Qatari art. Often referred to as the 'father of modern Qatari art,' Jassim Zaini described his artistic style as 'advanced realism.' In his works, he skillfully combined expressive realism with elements of cubism, impressionism, and surrealism. His pieces are deeply rooted in the local environment, reflecting the people, traditions, and social changes in Qatar from the 1950s through the 1970s. Jassim Zaini passed away on October 1, 2012.
