Janez Bernik (1933–2016) was a Slovenian painter, printmaker, and university professor. Born in Gunclje, Slovenia, he received multiple awards and international recognition during his career. He passed away in Prebold.
Biography
Janez Bernik was born on September 6, 1933, in the town of Gunclje, Slovenia. Throughout his life, he was known as a painter, graphic artist, printmaker, and figure in the visual arts. Bernik also engaged in teaching at the university level. He received numerous awards and achieved international recognition in the field of art. Culturally and nationally, Bernik was connected to Slovenia, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. His creative and academic work influenced the development of visual arts in the region. Janez Bernik passed away on July 15, 2016, in the town of Prebold.
