Ivan Rabuzin
Ivan Rabuzin (1921–2008) was a Croatian artist and political figure known for his work in naive art. His style is marked by simplicity and directness. In 1972, French art historian Anatole Jakovsky called him "one of the greatest naive painters of all time."
Biography
Ivan Rabuzin was born on March 27, 1921, in the town of Ključ, located in Varaždin County, Croatia. Throughout his life, he gained recognition as an artist, art figure, and politician. Rabuzin was a representative of the naive art movement, a style characterized by simplicity and direct artistic expression. In 1972, French critic and art historian Anatole Jakovsky described him as "one of the greatest naive artists of all times and peoples." Ivan Rabuzin passed away on December 18, 2008, in the city of Varaždin, Croatia. His creative and social activities left a significant mark on the cultural life of the country.
