Ivan Mládek

Biography

Ivan Mládek was born on February 7, 1942, in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He is a Czechoslovak and Czech songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist musician. Beyond his musical career, Mládek is recognized as an artist, lyricist, writer, theatrical and film actor, television actor, comedic performer, as well as a television and film screenwriter. In music, he works within the genres of folk, country, and jazz. Ivan Mládek is also known for performing and composing the famous song Jožin z bažin. Throughout his career, he has established himself as a banjo player, singer, illustrator, and copywriter. His national and cultural identity is associated with Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic.
