Illya Chychkan

Biography

Illya Arkadiyovych Chychkan was born on August 29, 1967, in Kyiv. He is a Ukrainian figure in the arts whose work spans fine art, photography, and video art. Chychkan gained recognition as a representative of the “New Wave” in Ukrainian art and is known as the author of the concept of “psychodarwinism.” Throughout his creative career, he combines the roles of artist, photographer, and video artist, making a significant contribution to contemporary Ukrainian art. His works reflect a diversity of media and innovative approaches characteristic of the postmodern cultural environment of Ukraine.
