Igor Savitsky
Igor Savitsky (1915–1984) was a Soviet artist, archaeologist, collector, and museologist. Born in Kiev, he developed his career in the USSR and is best known as the founder of the State Art Museum of Karakalpakstan in Nukus. He died in Moscow.

Biography
Igor Vitalievich Savitsky was born on August 4, 1915, in Kiev, then part of the Russian Empire. His national affiliation later corresponded to the Ukrainian People's Republic of Soviets and the USSR. Savitsky was a Soviet artist, archaeologist, collector, and museologist. He is most noted as the founder of the State Art Museum of Karakalpakstan in Nukus. His work spanned several fields of art and science, combining artistic creation with archaeological research and museum work. Igor Savitsky passed away on July 27, 1984, in Moscow.
