Hend Kheera
Hend Kheera is an Egyptian street artist born in Cairo in 1981. She is known for works combining stencils and slogans and emerged as a leading figure in Egyptian street art following the 2011 Arab Spring.
Biography
Hend Kheera was born in 1981 in Cairo, Egypt. She is an Egyptian street artist whose works merge stencils with slogans. Kheera became one of the leading figures of the street art movement that emerged in Egypt with the onset of the Arab Spring in 2011. Her artwork is closely connected to the socio-political changes in the country. In addition to her artistic practice, Hend Kheera actively participated in campaigns against sexual harassment in Egypt, which arose in response to the widespread issue of mass sexual violence in the country. Through both her art and public engagement, she addresses pressing problems in Egyptian society and contributes to contemporary humanitarian initiatives in Egypt.
