Hardi, whose real name is R. Soehardi, was born on May 26, 1951, in Blitar, Indonesia. He was a prominent Indonesian artist who actively worked within the New Painting direction. Throughout his life, Hardi made a significant contribution to the development of contemporary art in Indonesia. His creative work continued until his death on December 28, 2023. Hardi represented Indonesia's cultural heritage in the field of fine arts and left a noticeable mark in the history of the national artistic movement. Through his artwork, he strengthened the position of the Indonesian art school on the global stage.
