Hans Gude
Hans Fredrik Gude (1825–1903) was a Norwegian romantic landscape and marine painter from Christiania. He worked mainly in Germany and represented the Düsseldorf school of painting. Notable works include "Bridal Procession on the Hardangerfjord".
Biography
Hans Fredrik Gude was born on March 13, 1825, in Christiania, Norway. He became a well-known landscape and marine painter, working within the Romantic style. Gude spent much of his artistic career in Germany, where he represented the Düsseldorf school of painting. In addition to his work as a painter, he served as a university lecturer. Among his notable works are "Bridal Procession on the Hardangerfjord" and "The Sandvik Fiord". Gude passed away on August 17, 1903, in Berlin. His art holds an important place within Norwegian culture and the German artistic tradition of the nineteenth century.
