Grigory Ivanovich Gurkin (1870–1937) was a Russian and Soviet landscape painter and art figure. A Teleut by origin and member of the Choros clan, he studied under I. I. Shishkin and worked primarily in the USSR.

Grigory Ivanovich Gurkin was born on January 12, 1870, in the city of Gorno-Altaysk. He was ethnically Teleut and belonged to the Choros clan. Throughout his life, Gurkin was recognized as a Russian and Soviet art figure and a painter, specializing in landscape painting. He studied painting under the guidance of I. I. Shishkin. During his creative career, Gurkin lived and worked in the USSR. He passed away on October 11, 1937. His artistic work left a notable mark in the art history of that period.
