Gilberto Aceves Navarro
Gilberto Aceves Navarro (1931–2019) was a Mexican painter and sculptor, professor at Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas and Academia de San Carlos. He held over two hundred solo exhibitions and created murals in Mexico, Japan, and the USA.
Biography
Gilberto Aceves Navarro was born on September 24, 1931, in Mexico City, Mexico. He was a renowned Mexican painter and sculptor and served as a professor at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas and Academia de San Carlos. Throughout his career, Aceves Navarro held more than two hundred solo exhibitions. His murals can be found in locations across Mexico, Japan, and the United States. He received numerous awards, including grants from the Creador Artístico Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte, the Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes, and the Bellas Artes medal from the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes. Gilberto Aceves Navarro passed away on October 20, 2019, in Mexico City.
