Georgy Kovenchuk
Georgy Vasilievich Kovenchuk (1933–2015) was a Soviet and Russian artist and writer from Saint Petersburg. He worked as a painter, graphic artist, poster artist, book illustrator, and stage designer, also engaging in ceramics and small-format sculpture.
Biography
Georgy Vasilievich Kovenchuk was born on December 2, 1933, in Saint Petersburg. He was a Soviet and Russian artist and writer, representing the cultural traditions of Russia and the USSR. In his creative work, Kovenchuk acted as a painter, graphic artist, poster artist, book illustrator, and stage designer. Additionally, he worked in ceramics and small-format sculpture. His work also encompassed the portrait genre. For his achievements in the field of art, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Georgy Vasilievich passed away on February 3, 2015, in Saint Petersburg.
