Georgette Chen, also known as Georgette Liying Chendana Chen, was born on October 23, 1906, in Zhejiang. She was an artist and arts figure associated with regions such as Singapore and the Republic of China. Georgette Chen was one of the pioneers of modern Singaporean art and a representative of the Paris School, as well as one of the founders of the Nanyang style of art in the region. Her work belongs to the Post-Impressionism period. She died on March 15, 1993, in Singapore. Her artistic contribution reflects a combination of the cultural influences of Singapore and China, as well as the impact of European artistic movements.
