Gavin Friday (born Finbarr Martin Hanvey on October 8, 1959, Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish singer, songwriter, composer, actor, and artist. He co-founded the post-punk band The Virgin Prunes and was a member of the British rock group The Fall.

He is known as one of the founders of the post-punk band The Virgin Prunes. Additionally, he was a member of the British rock group The Fall. Beyond his musical career, Friday has worked as a film actor. His creative work encompasses alternative rock genres. He is also recognized as a close friend of Bono, the Irish musician and vocalist of the band U2. His nationality and cultural background are Irish.
