Gabriel Caruana
Gabriel Caruana (1929–2018) was a Maltese artist and ceramist born in Balzan. He studied at the Malta School of Art, Pietro Vannucci Academy in Perugia, Detroit Society of Arts and Crafts, and the Italian State Institute of Ceramics in Faenza.
Biography
Gabriel Caruana was born on April 7, 1929, in the town of Balzan, Malta. He was an artist and ceramist. Caruana received his artistic education at the Malta School of Art, where he studied from 1953 to 1959. He continued his studies at the Pietro Vannucci Academy in Perugia in 1965. In 1966, he furthered his training at the Detroit Society of Arts and Crafts. In 1967, he completed his education at the Italian State Institute of Ceramics in the city of Faenza. His professional career was primarily focused on ceramic art. Throughout his life, Gabriel Caruana remained connected to Maltese culture. He passed away on July 16, 2018.
