Biography

Christian Eivind Espedal, better known by his stage name Gaahl, was born on August 7, 1975, in Sunnfjord, Norway. He is a Norwegian musician and vocalist primarily working within the black metal and ambient genres. From 1998 to 2009, Gaahl served as the vocalist for the black metal band Gorgoroth, a significant figure in the Norwegian extreme music scene. Beyond his work with Gorgoroth, he has created and participated in several other musical projects, continuing to develop and present various directions in heavy and atmospheric music. Gaahl is also known as a visual artist and singer. His work is closely tied to Norwegian culture and the musical traditions of the region.
