Frits Thaulow (October 20, 1847 – November 5, 1906) was a Norwegian landscape painter and engraver, recognized as a significant figure of 19th-century Norwegian art and an impressionist artist.
Biography
Frits Thaulow was born on October 20, 1847, in Christiania, Norway. He was a Norwegian artist, engraver, and art figure specializing in landscape painting. Thaulow is regarded as one of the most significant representatives of 19th-century Norwegian painting. His work predominantly reflects Impressionist motifs. Among his notable paintings are "Winter in Norway," "A January Day in Norway," and "Shadows." Frits Thaulow left a lasting impact on the history of Norwegian art. He passed away on November 5, 1906, in Volendam.
