Biography

Freddie Mercury was born on September 5, 1946, in Zanzibar. He was a British rock singer, composer, songwriter, and the lead vocalist of the rock band Queen. Additionally, Freddie was a guitarist, pianist, music producer, graphic designer, poet, craftsman, and artist. He demonstrated a vivid creative diversity and musically expressed himself in genres including classic rock, rock and roll, heavy metal, progressive rock, disco, classical crossover, neoclassicism, hard rock, glam rock, and pop rock. Among his well-known works are "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Are the Champions," "Love of My Life," and "Don’t Stop Me Now." Freddie Mercury passed away on November 24, 1991, at Garden Lodge. Nationally and culturally, he was associated with both the United Kingdom and the Sultanate of Zanzibar.
