Francesco Noletti
Francesco Noletti, also known as Francesco Maltese or Francesco Fieravino, was an Italian still-life painter born in 1611 in Valletta, Malta. He worked mainly in Rome until his death on December 4, 1654. His work is noted for its skilled execution and choice of still-life subjects.
Biography
Francesco Maltese, whose real name was Francesco Noletti and who was also known as Francesco Fieravino, was an Italian artist born in 1611 in Valletta, the capital of the island of Malta. Despite his Italian origin, he was often called "the Maltese" due to his place of birth. He specialized in the genre of still life and created notable works such as "Still-Life: Citron Trees and Violin" and "Still Life with Fruit, Plates and Dishes on a Turkey Carpet". Throughout his creative career, he worked predominantly in Rome, where he lived and died on December 4, 1654. His contribution to the art of the period is reflected in the mastery of execution and the choice of subjects in his still-life paintings.
