Filippo Brunelleschi (1377–1446) was an Italian scientist, architect, sculptor, engineer, mathematician, geometer, jeweler, and decorator of the Renaissance. He contributed to the development of new European architecture distinct from Ancient Roman models.

Filippo Brunelleschi was born in 1377 in Florence. He was an Italian scientist, architect, sculptor, engineer, mathematician, geometer, jeweler, and decorator of the Renaissance era. During his career, Brunelleschi became one of the creators of new European architecture, distinguished from his contemporary Leon Battista Alberti by following Northern Italian and Tuscan traditions rather than focusing on Ancient Roman monuments. Filippo worked across various artistic and scientific fields, including architecture, civil engineering, sculpture, and jewelry craft. He spent his final years in Rome, where he died on April 15, 1446. Among his notable works are Santa Maria del Fiore, the Pazzi Chapel, and the Basilica of San Lorenzo. Brunelleschi's contribution to the development of the Early and Italian Renaissance remains significant in the history of Italian art and architecture.
