Farid Belkahia

Farid Belkahia (1934–2014) was a Moroccan artist and educational reformer born and died in Marrakech. He led the School of Fine Arts in Casablanca from 1962 to 1974 during the modernist movement. He worked in painting, metal, and leather arts.

Farid Belkahia was born on November 15, 1934, in Marrakech, Morocco. He was a Moroccan artist recognized as a modernist and a reformer of the art education system. From 1962 to 1974, Belkahia served as the director of the School of Fine Arts in Casablanca, a period marked by the active development of the modernist movement at the school. His creative work primarily involved techniques such as painting, metalworking, and leather crafting. Farid Belkahia passed away on September 25, 2014, in his hometown of Marrakech.
