Biography

Eliseu d'Angelo Visconti was born on July 30, 1866, in the city of Giffoni Valle Piana, then part of the Kingdom of Italy. He became a notable Brazilian painter and graphic artist of Italian descent. Visconti is regarded as one of the few representatives of Impressionism in Brazil, a movement he actively developed through his creative work. His preferred genre was landscape painting, where he employed techniques characteristic of Impressionism to convey light and color. Throughout his life, Eliseu Visconti worked as a painter, graphic designer, and draftsman, reflecting the diversity of his professional activities. After emigrating to Brazil, he became a prominent figure in the country's art scene. Eliseu Visconti passed away on October 15, 1944, in Rio de Janeiro.
