Elisabeth Merkuryevna Boehm was born on February 12, 1843, in Saint Petersburg, then part of the Russian Empire. She was an artist, illustrator, and silhouettist who actively engaged in the visual arts, including graphic work. Throughout her creative career, Elisabeth combined the roles of painter and graphic artist with a particular focus on illustration. She lived her entire life in Saint Petersburg, where she passed away on July 25, 1914.
