Elena Konstantinovna Luksch-Makowsky was born on November 13, 1878, in Saint Petersburg. She was an active figure in the visual arts, recognized as a painter, sculptor, and engraver. Luksch-Makowsky also worked as a graphic artist, woodcut artist, illustrator, and craftswoman.
