Ekaterina Fyodorovna Tolstaya, more widely known by her married name Junge, was born on November 24, 1843, in Saint Petersburg. She was the daughter of the sculptor Count Fyodor Petrovich Tolstoy. In her artistic work, Ekaterina focused on watercolor painting, primarily depicting landscapes of Crimea, as well as creating portraits. Beyond her artistic endeavors, she authored detailed memoirs that have been republished multiple times. Ekaterina belonged to the culture and society of the Russian Empire. She passed away on January 20, 1913, in Moscow.
