Edward Śmigły-Rydz (1886–1941) was a Polish marshal, military leader, and politician, serving as the commander-in-chief of the Polish army during the 1939 war. He was also active as a poet, writer, and artist.

Edward Śmigły-Rydz was born on March 11, 1886, in the city of Berezhany. He became a Polish military leader and politician, reaching the rank of marshal of Poland. In 1939, Śmigły-Rydz served as the supreme commander of the Polish army during the war. Beyond his military and political career, he was involved in poetry, painting, and writing. Edward Śmigły-Rydz passed away on December 2, 1941, in Warsaw. His entire life and work were closely connected to Poland.
