Durdy Bayramov
Durdy Bayramov (1938–2014) was a Soviet and Turkmen artist, educator, and photographer specializing in portraiture. He was named People's Artist of the Turkmen SSR in 1991 and Honored Art Worker of the Turkmen SSR in 1980. He was a member of the Academy of Arts of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Biography
Durdy Bayramovich Bayramov was born on April 14, 1938, in Bayramaly. He was a Soviet and Turkmen artist, educator, and photographer who primarily worked in the genre of portraiture. Throughout his career, he received numerous awards including the title of People's Artist of the Turkmen SSR in 1991 and Honored Art Worker of the Turkmen SSR in 1980. In 1998, Bayramov became a full member of the Academy of Arts of the Kyrgyz Republic. His recognitions include the President of Turkmenistan's Medal "For Love of the Homeland", the B. Nurali Prize from the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan in 2009, the Lenin Komsomol Prize of the USSR in 1972, and the Lenin Komsomol Prize of the Turkmen SSR in 1970. Durdy Bayramov passed away on February 14, 2014, in Ashgabat.
