David Gian Maillu

Biography

David Gian Maillu is a Kenyan author and publisher born on October 19, 1939. He is known as one of the most prolific writers in East Africa, having published more than 60 books between 1972 and 2021. Beyond his literary work, Maillu was also engaged in theology, philosophy, music, and painting. His diverse activities demonstrate the multifaceted nature of his talents, blending humanitarian and artistic professions. Maillu not only created numerous works but also contributed significantly to the cultural development of Kenya and East Africa. He holds an important position among Kenyan cultural figures of the 20th and 21st centuries.
