He is among the most prominent contemporary Czech sculptors, also recognized as an artist, philosopher, conceptual artist, director, and actor. Černý’s work combines humor, provocation, and social and political satire. His sculptures often provoke strong public criticism, yet many, installed in Prague, have gained wide recognition and become important attractions of the Czech capital. His most notable works include Entropa, the Golem Monument, the Head of Franz Kafka, and Horse. Besides sculpture, he is also known as a screenwriter, production designer, television actor, and film actor.
