David Alfaro Siqueiros

José David Alfaro Siqueiros (1896–1974) was a Mexican painter, graphic artist, muralist, and political activist involved in the communist movement. He worked in painting and graphic arts, also serving as a military figure and university professor.

Biography

José David Alfaro Siqueiros was born on December 29, 1896, in Chihuahua, Mexico. He gained recognition as a painter, graphic artist, muralist, and political activist engaged in the communist movement. Throughout his artistic career, Siqueiros worked in the genres of painting and graphics. Beyond his artistic pursuits, he also served as a military officer and a university professor. His notable works include "Nuestra Imagen Actual," "The Sleep," and the "Polyforum Cultural Siqueiros." He passed away on January 6, 1974, in Cuernavaca.
